Planning a Message & Using Layout
How to structure an email effectively; how to use analogue marking to direct the reader’s attention
How to Communicate Formally
Key aspects of formal English; how to use a semi-formal tone in emails; cultural differences in the tone of language
How to Communicate Informally
Key aspects of informal English; how to create a consistent informal tone; how to make messages friendly
How to Chase and give Constructive Feedback
How to write a chaser email; how to vary the tone so as not to offend; how to balance the task and relationship in emails
Dealing with Complaints
How to respond to complaints from customers; how to defuse emotional situations; how to lead a customer towards a solution
Using AI
Working with AI to produce emails and texts; how to proof-read and correct what AI produces; How to identify and modify the tone of the text
Practicing key skills step-by-step during writing assignments, you will get feedback on how well you have acquired the writing techniques and language patterns.
