- A minimum level of B2 (upper-intermediate) is required to participate in this course
- The course is designed by experienced language trainers who have experience of training other cultures how to work with Brits

The course uses real case studies to present key cultural differences, and reveals the key language patterns and expressions that mark out British English

Understanding the historical context of UK values; why liberty is so important; the secret way to ask Brits to do something
Small Talk
Deciphering UK small talk; Learning to build rapport with Brits; Mastering the unspoken rules of small talk
British Indirectness
Why Brits don’t speak directly; How to decipher UK feedback; How to give feedback in a British way
British Politeness
The unique way that Brit are polite – negative politeness; how Brits say no; apologising in a British way
Understanding British Emotions
The importance of staying calm and controlling one’s emotions; how to express understatement in a British way
British Humour
How Brits build relationships using humour; micky-taking and how to join in; UK banter and sarcasm
Practicing key patterns and expressions step-by-step during small group exercises and role plays, you will get feedback on how well you have acquired the key skills presented during the course
